About me
I am Valeria Palma. Singer, actress and voice artist.
I live and work in Rome, Italy. I have dedicated my career to a single instrument: the voice.
The human voice, which changes with emotions, tells stories, defines characters and intentions;
that unique voice that probably no algorithm can really replicate.
I have been working for over fifteen years between stage, recording studio and set. Not only because I have chosen multiple professions, but because I believe that singing, acting and voicing are different expressions of the same thing: the ability to create an authentic connection with the listener.
My career
My background is deliberately multidisciplinary. I have a degree in Modern Foreign Languages and Literature.
I studied ballet and modern dance with Renato Greco and Maria Teresa Dal Medico I am trained in classical and pop singing, piano and musical harmony.
I went through theatre with the Strasberg method, the Chekhov and Commedia dell'Arte techniques. I studied acting with several teachers and actors including Ennio Coltorti, Gabriele Lavia, Carlo Ragone and Siddhartha Prestinari; I trained in Italian dubbing with Chiara Salerno and Paolo Buglioni.
I did not seek a single specialization because I believe that artistic depth arises from the interweaving of different disciplines. Each instrument I have learnt has crafted my listening, my presence, my interpretative skills.
On stage
In theatre, I have performed several times in Romeo and Juliet directed by Gigi Proiettian experience that has deeply marked my artistic career and which I continue to carry with me. I have worked in musicals, musical operas and prose, in productions ranging from La Tosca by Luigi Magni to Arrivederci Roma.
As a singer I am co-founder of Not2Series Duo & Band who participated in the live Rai Radio 2/TV broadcast Sogni di Gloria. I have been performing for several years in clubs, theatres, festivals and private events all over Italy and in Rome: from Caffè Letterario to Casa del Jazz, Villa Celimontana Jazz Festival and Cotton Club. I have been part of some of the most active choirs on the Roman scene: Phonema Gospel Singers (directed by Antonella Cilenti) with whom I participated in television programmes on Rai Radio 2, Canale 5 and TV2000. I have been chorister in the Cosmic Vocals Choir (directed by Micol Touadi) and in Opera Events Choir (directed by Mattia Pedretti).
In 2025 I was chorister in Grace for the WorldGospel Concert at the Vatican, directed by Pharrell Williams and Andrea Bocelliand broadcasted worldwide, with Jennifer Hudson, John Legend, Teddy Swims and Karol G.
Romeo and Juliet, directed by Gigi Proietti, Globe Theatre, Rome
Grace for the World, Vatican 2025. Broadcast worldwide Disney+/ABC News
In the recording studio
I have worked as a voice artist in National and International campaigns for brands such as Tezenis, Tim, Daikin, Fresh&Clean, for the European Parliament 2024 Election Campaign, and YouTube HitPause campaign.. I have dubbed American television series such as Major Crimes, Dallas and Brooklyn 99, and I have collaborated as a backing vocalist on singles distributed by Universal Music.
I have the same attention and interpretative care in voiceover as I have on stage: first I “listen” to the project, then I look for the emotion that fits its message, the intention it contains and wants to convey. Standard rendition is not for me:I care for the right interpretation for you, for your project, for this very moment.
Every project has its own voice. My job is to find it.
My philosophy
I am available in Rome and online, in home studio or with access to a professional studio.
I work with people, professionals and content creators who believe that voice is not just a detail.
At a time when any sound can be artificially synthesized, I choose to be on the side of authenticity. Every vocal timbre is unique, every interpretation carries within it something that cannot be artificially generated: the emotion experienced by those who can interpret it.
In my work, I always try to convey emotions through interpretation, where the human voice that creates connection rises.
I also offer my experience for those who wish to work on their voice through coaching and mentoring sessions for singing and voice acting, enunciation and public speaking.
I address anyone who wants to improve: singers, actors and actresses, voice professionals or enthusiasts, with lessons either in person in Rome or online.
